Belgrave garden pictures
Here I have captured a photo of a tree in an upwards angle. What i have tried and succeeded to capture the sun through the branches and make it the main subject of the picture. I did this because it makes the picture more interesting to look at. Taking a picture from an upwards angle makes up the form of the picture, the sun in the background coming forward, the leaves having a different tone from dark to light makes the image look the opposite of flat as you can see the changes in it. Another aspect of the photo I like is the lens flare captured. This is quite intriguing to see as you would not be seeing this with a human eye and it is only captured by photos because of the lens on the camera. This picture fits with my project to do with nature, as I am focusing on trees inspired by photographer Adam Gibbs. I chose trees because they take unusual and unique shapes. To improve this work I would have taken a photo from a lower point of view. This is because i would have liked to have captured more of the tree shape as well as the sun peaking out the branches. Next time I may take pictures from more of a distance than up close to get more of an outline of a tree as the subject of a photograph.
In this photograph i have taken an image of 3 main gravestones two at the front and one in the middle at the back. I tried to capture the light hitting the stone at the back. I also liked the shadow the tree was giving all the other grave stones and just a few glimpses of light coming through the branches. I placed my camera between the two grave stones putting them all into focus, I tried to get an angle where the light was hitting the grave stone and still having a bit of shadows. The foreground being the gravestones and the background being the leaves. This fits with my project as it shows nature and how nature has effected the gravestones overtime. Also again adding the tree over the gravestones. I also like the aspects of the leaves tone going from dark to light through the picture. how the 3 gravestones add a three dimensional element to the picture. What i would improve with this picture if i had another chance to take it I would focus it more onto the back and less on the front. If I maybe had taken more time in taking the photo i could have played around with the way I focused it and set the camera. What I'll do next is I would find more areas which are shadowed and try getting a picture that is focused only on the lighting area and blur out the rest.
In this photograph the subject of the photo is the tree and how it is twisting up. I tried to capture the peculiar the tree is twisting up and away. I like the way the light is hitting parts and revealing the texture of the tree and creating contrast between the darker areas and the lighter areas. The foreground was the tree being the main focus and the leaves being the background. I took the picture at a side angle since i saw it captured the twist better. If i got the chance to take the picture again i would change the angle slightly making it so the other branches are in the shot. Next time i will try to get closer and experiment with different angles if finding a tree like this again.
